Additional Notes:
The FlashBack Fever Collection ushered in the Bratz Boyz explosion
of Summer 2004 as part of an ever expanding world of the Boyz. Along
with the FlashBack Fever Collection August 2004 brought the Wild Life
Collection, Wintertime Wonderland Boyz and the Tokyo-A-Go-Go Line, not
to mention the Secret Date two-packs.
Many new precedents were set with the FlashBack Fever Line starting
with the box design. A new s-wave shape ran down the sides of the box
producing a complex angled curve while still resulting in a standard
trapezoid box with the wider dimension along the base. For the first
time in Bratz packaging design each box utilized a unique color scheme
and pattern on the front to correspond to the given decade. All the
cardbacks employed a shimmering, hologram-like pattern that complemented
the unique color scheme of the era.
Another new feature of the FlashBack Fever collection included a mini
audio CD which offered classic soundtracks from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
To date the audio CDs remain unique to the Flashback Fever line. A small
keychain/charm accessory was included with each Boy, similar to the
Tokyo-A-Go-Go Line. The Collectible Card with shifting images first
introduced in the Sun-Kissed-Summer Line continued with the FlashBack
Fever Editions although the second image was simply a close-up of the
first one flipped on its horizontal axis.
Each Bratz Boy received a radically redesigned hairstyle rendering some
characters like Eitan and Cade almost unrecognizable from their former
"looks". For the first time Dylan appeared with straightened hair, a
style that would reappear in the Secret Date Dylan.
There were some unusual anomalies with the Flashback Fever line including
a different style of artwork unique to Eitan's eyes while Cameron's
eye color was changed to Hazel instead of the customary Blue. Additionally,
in the final production of Koby's black shirt the Rainbow pattern was
removed despite appearing in the character artwork and photos on the
box back.
